Tour of Twitter Headquarters in San Francisco

Twitter is one of the most revolutionary companies in the world today. Founded in 2006, the company has transformed how people use social media to communicate, create, and share ideas and information with each other. This tour is an opportunity to visit the company’s global headquarters in San Francisco, which occupies the historic Market Square complex between 9th and 10th street. 

Date and Time:  Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.

Location: 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA

Tour of National Landmark Courthouse, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit

This tour discusses the history and architecture of this National Landmark courthouse, called the “Court for All Seasons” and also provides information regarding the federal court.  See more at http://www.youtube.com/user/9thcirc.  Many visitors enjoy viewing the 20-minute video on youtube, which discusses the work of the court and this courthouse.  The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, headquartered in San Francisco, hears appeals from lower court decisions in the federal courts of nine Western states, including Alaska and Hawaii.  This courthouse has served as the headquarters for the entire circuit since 1905.

Date and Time:  Friday, October 14, 2016 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Directions and Location:  95 Seventh Street, on the corner of Mission and Seventh Street, one block south of Market Street in the Civic Center area of San Francisco.  The four story granite building takes up most of the block, but the only public entrance to the building is 95 Seventh Street.  Enter from the door that says “Public Entry."

An official state issued photo I.D., i.e. driver’s license or passport, is required for admittance.

San Jose City Hall Tour and Silicon Valley U.S. Patent & Trademark Office Tour

The San Jose City Hall and Silicon Valley USPTO Tours will occur during the afternoon of Friday, October 14, 2016. Participants are encouraged to join both tours.  

San Jose City Hall Tour

San Jose City Hall was built in 2005 and designed by Richard Meier, designer of the Getty Center in Los Angeles, the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art in Spain, and many other buildings around the world. It is the center of government of the city of San Jose, California, home to the largest Vietnamese community outside of Vietnam.  

Councilmember Tam Nguyen will join the tour of the facilities. Participants are invited to submit questions or propose policy issues of interest to discuss with Councilmember Nguyen during the tour.  The tour may also be attended by Councilmember Ash Kalra and Mayor Liccardo.

Silicon Valley USPTO Office Tour

The tour of the Silicon Valley USPTO office will include a tour of the office's new facilities, which opened in 2015.

Before you rush off to the airport, the NCVAA committee would like to invite all NCVAA participants to coalesce one last time over a bowl of pho.  Come enjoy the company of fellow conference goers as well as help plan for the 2017 NCVAA conference.  We value your input!

Attendees will need to pay for their own meals.
